I love love love the color of the walls. This was my first venture into the world of darker walls, I was nervous I wouldn’t like it, but I love it, and will now have a hard time going back to the world of off white. The color is Aegean Teal by Benjamin Moore and it really looks great with the rug. The room is the brightest room in the condo, so it can pull off the dark walls easily. Because of the new drywall, the room also has pretty straight walls, which I think is crucial for dark colors. I don’t think I would have been happy painting this color in the living room, where it would have just accentuated the fact that nothing in old buildings is square!

Who shouldn't pick this color?
A general rule of thumb is that colors that look gorgeous on a paint swatch will be overpowering across a whole room of a home. For that reason, many people might prefer a less saturated shade with more gray, white, or black in it for a large surface-area project.
At the same time, this shade isn’t quite bold enough for a hip hotel or restaurant. It sits in an interesting middle ground.

Any pro tips?
"I really think Aegean Teal looks its best on one wall (as an accent color) because it’s not necessarily the most ideal whole room color because it is such a rich color. It’s also just a little darker than a mid-tone. However, if the color is balanced well with plenty of white/cream in the space with trim, cabinetry and wainscoting (as you can see below), it can really work beautifully.”
