The Basics
What are people saying about this color?
Definitely one of my favorite blues. This grayish blue paint color is from the Benjamin Moore Historical Collection and has been a preferred blue for many homeowners over the years. I love seeing it used in a semi-gloss finish on cabinets.
Van Deusen Blue is the lightest blue out of the ones I’ve listed. It’s less of a royal blue and more muted. I think there’s a nice mix of blue and gray, without being too dark.

Where could you expect to see it?
This is a fabulous shade that has both a sense of personality and of stability. It leans slightly masculine. It’s bold enough to shine in a cool bar or hotel but comfortable enough to live with every day.

Who shouldn't pick this color?
I wouldn't recommend this shade for a dining room or more social spots in the home, unless you balance the darkness with lots of bright accessories. I also wouldn’t use this in a dark room unless it’s meant for a cozy sleep space.
